Eagle in the Tree

Don’t know if you can see the bald eagle perched on the branch of a fir tree in the middle of that picture. He watches the flats below. As soon as the winter rain starts, the water begins to accumulate down there and the birds arrive- trumpeter swans, seagulls, ducks, Canada geese. The eagles hunt the seagulls. I see them chasing around above the flats. When that happens all the seagulls rise and circle around each other, maybe to threaten or confuse the eagle. Sometimes it works.

I’ve almost finished Lies He Told, Book Four. I don’t have a title yet. This is Randy Bonnar’s story and it was fun to write. Will post the cover when I get it.

Sylvie Grayson Author of Romantic Suspense and Fantasy

We first met Rain Man in The Lies He Told Me

When a police detective falls for his main suspect, life gets complicated.

The Lies He Told Me by Sylvie Grayson

When Chloe Bowman’s husband disappears, never did she imagine that in the midst of the search to find him, she’d discover she didn’t really know this man at all. She’s left alone with her young son and a time bomb on her hands. Lurking in the shadows is the mysterious Rain Man.

Police Detective Ross Cullen was already investigating Chloe’s husband when he  disappeared. But the deeper Ross digs the less he knows,  and the more he’s attracted  to the young widow as she struggles to put her life back together. Can Ross break  through the Rain Man’s disguises to solve the case so he can be with Chloe?

Goodreads review –  5 stars- This is, without a doubt, one of the most twisted, convoluted, complicated books I’ve ever read. I wish I had as much strength as Chloe does. She successfully pulls her life together after her husband disappears. And, she handles even more when she discovers her husband may not have been the man she thought he was. A thought-provoking story with a tough heroine, a hard-as-nails detective, and an explosive HEA.

Amazon review — 5 stars- I have read the four books in the Last War series by this gracious lady and enjoyed them immensely. However, I rarely read contemporary novels and especially mysteries. I have had to change my mind after reading this novel and even stayed up LATE . I had to finish it. SO glad I did! If you have not read them, the Last War series by Ms. Grayson is a terrific set of novels to enjoy. All of her books that I have read so far have been enjoyable reads, no matter what the genre.

On a winter retreat

My husband and I have taken a well-deserved vacation. We have sold our last company, something that took 13 months of difficult negotiation and stressful work. Now we have taken a break in an effort to recover. We are on the island of Maui.

The flowers are beautiful, the air feels like silk on your skin. The ocean is a joy to swim in, and just floating in the water is a gift.

Have I done any writing since we arrived? Nope, afraid not. But I did bring a MS to proof read, which is progress of a sort.  Keep an eye out, soon to be released, Rain Man, The Lies He Told, Book Two.

Readers reviews –

5 Stars – As with the other five novels in the Last War series, the descriptive narratives of their world, and of the characters and their family groups are terrific.  Each of these can be read as a Stand Alone with a HEA!  However, there are so many fine characters that build upon their inter-relationships, I urge you to start with the first book and read each one successively, as I have done.  I was hooked with the first story and will continue to read each subsequent novel. Amazon reviewer

5 Stars –  I found myself watching a movie in my head through Sylvie Grayson’s words. Her world seemed a cross between a historical time period and Star Wars and it works! It had pieces from both, and they flowed together to create this brand-new world that is not only colorful but also imaginative.— BookBub reviewer
