Sometimes I need a distraction. What about you? Do you find yourself immersed in your work and then stop to think maybe a distraction would be nice? That’s what I did. We went on a safari to Kenya and Tanzania with our family– for a distraction. (ha ha)
Here we are at the Giraffe Rescue Centre in Kenya for a closeup visit with the Rothschild’s Giraffes. We were given pellets of grain to feed them. The trick was to make sure they didn’t take one of our fingers off with the pellet.

Then we encountered a large family of baboons. They turned their backs to us, very rude. 🙂

Next we stopped at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage Nursery. Here is one of the orphans being fed. The babies are orphaned due to poaching, drought and human encroachment.

Mrs. Sheldrick telling us about her work.
No, I didn’t get any writing done. Why would I? and how would I? We were there with our children and grandchildren, and it was such fun. A great opportunity to catch up.
Have you ever been to Kenya or Tanzania? Shoot me a comment and tell me about it.
