3 Things Making Me Happy This Christmas

  1. My family will be all around me for the season. We have our children here, and their children for the traditional dinner on the 25th. Around New Year we host a get together for extended family that usually involves 25 to 30 people. I’m lucky to have a big, close-knit family.
  2. I finally finished the second book in the Lies He Told This one is called Rain Man, Lies He Told: Book Two, and is just waiting for the holiday season to be over before I begin the final edits. Yay!!

Moon Shine by Sylvie Grayson

The story takes place in rural Canada during 1930’s. Times are tough especially for a widow living on a farmstead on the outskirts of town with two young children to bring up. This is a well written story, characters have depth, the writing flows and the reader feels as though they know everybody involved. It covers the poverty and hardships families suffer from the depression, social prejudice and illegal activities. 

This is just the sort of story I enjoy – ordinary people who struggle through the depression and hardships weathering the ups and downs that life throws at them, contending with small town living where everyone knows everybody’s business. A thoroughly enjoyable read.  Amazon reviewer

5 Stars – As with the other five novels in the Last War series, the descriptive narratives of their world, and of the characters and their family groups are terrific.  Each of these can be read as a Stand Alone with a HEA!  However, there are so many fine characters that build upon their inter-relationships, I urge you to start with the first book and read each one successively, as I have done.  I was hooked with the first story and will continue to read each subsequent novel. 5 Stars –  I found myself watching a movie in my head through Sylvie Grayson’s words. Her world seemed a cross between a historical time period and Star Wars and it works! 5 Stars- Like watching a movie- Ms. Grayson writes so well that I feel like I am watching everyone as the action takes place! The scenes are detailed and the characters are so descriptive that I almost feel like I know these people and have shared time with them. There is some great action and romance to warm everyone up while enjoying this read on a cold day. I have read several books by Ms. Grayson , from romance and mystery through science fiction in the Khandarken Last War series, and have loved them all. I so look forward to reading her next books as she writes from the wonderful West coast.
