Owls left a gift?

We found a gift on our mat on the patio that leads to the door into the house. It looks like an item that has been regurgitated, but once had a tail, hair and a head. A mouse perhaps? There were two gifts actually, the second one smaller and not as recognizable as the first.

We think it might have been an owl, just not sure why he was doing his business on our patio. We have great horned owls around here, with their whoo-whoo-whowho calls, as well as other varieties. These gifts are just new to us.

Yes, I have a picture. No, I’m not going to post it here– too gory to share, I’m afraid. Does anyone have any idea as to what this is or where it might have come from? What else besides an owl would swallow a mouse, partially digest it, then regurgitate it?

Back blub — Be careful who you trust!

Katy Dalton worked hard to save her money. And having her friend Bruno invest it seemed like a safe bet. But her job disappears and she needs her money back, everything Bruno has already loaned to Rome Trucking. When Katy insists he return it, Bruno stops answering his phone and bad things start to happen.

Brett Rome is frustrated. The last thing he wants to do is leave a promising career in hockey to come home and run his ailing father’s trucking company. What he discovers is not the successful business that he remembers, but one that is teetering on the very edge of bankruptcy and a young woman demanding the return of the money she invested.

With the company in chaos, Brett hires her. But danger lurks in the form of Bruno’s dubious associates. What secret are they hiding and why are they willing to kill Katy? Can Brett put this broken picture back together, and is Katy part of the solution or the problem?

What readers say about Suspended Animation

5 Stars- Like watching a movie- Ms. Grayson writes so well that I feel like I am watching everyone as the action takes place! The scenes are detailed and the characters are so descriptive that I almost feel like I know these people and have shared time with them. There is some great action and romance to warm everyone up while enjoying this read on a cold day. I have read several books by Ms. Grayson , from romance and mystery through science fiction in the Khandarken Last War series, and have loved them all. I so look forward to reading her next books as she writes from the wonderful West coast.

Back Home From an Amazing Trip!

Just back from a trip to Europe with my hubby. We have tried twice before to take this same trip, so third time lucky. It was fascinating,  travelling on a river cruise through eastern Europe, starting at Prague  and Budapest, ending at Amsterdam.

There we went to a windmill village where some of the mills are still working operations. Here are the inner workings. The fellow told us he could grind limestone  to mix with colour to make paint, and what he did  in a year would take a half day with current equipment. Fascinating!
